Does anyone load 45 acp
« on: February 14, 2015, 09:21:35 pm »
I am in the process of gathering the needed items again to start loading 45 acp.  I have been out of the reloading game and have long since lost or sold many of my items.  However all new stuff is on the way.  My question is does anyone load light, target 45 acp?  I am going to start bullseye shooting and have been given a gun that requires light loads only due to the barrel tuner that is installed.  I would like to take advantage of the nice weather this weekend and wondered if anyone would sell me a few reloads of less than 800fps, more like the 700 feet per second.  The recommended load per the gunsmith was 8 gr of bulls eye behind a win primer.  However I know there are many loads that can get me 700-800 fps.  I am just in need of about 50 rounds to trial a gun.  I am willing to pay for the ammunition and also provide brass if needed.  If you can help please pm me.  Thanks and happy shooting.

Check the manuals Doc,   8gr of bullseye is an awful hot load in a 45 ACP.

You are both correct on the bullseye load being around 3.5-4.  I guess I was thinking of other loads as I was typing.  I appreciate the offer on loading with your equipment but am trying to mass together what I need to start up myself.  I am not in much of a hurry just wanted to trial a new gun as soon as possible to see if other work would be needed.  It has an old school bomar tuner and I need to keep the loads to a minimum and find a good recoil spring weight.  Thanks for the replies.
