Has anyone got anything with there bow yet? I've passed on a couple nice 8 points and several smaller bucks waiting on a bigger one.

My girl had her first chance ever ,as she just started this year, but she didn't get the shot off. The doe came out on a travel rout not ten feet from her. She (my girl) wasn't ready for the shot and then the doe walked strait away, giving no shot untill 40 yrds. That was out of her range though she did come to full draw. Lets just say a bow hunter was born at that moment. Other than that I've had more close calls with hunters than anything else. Next week were going to the lease so maybe better luck.

Congrats on getting her into bow hunting nothing else like it!

i am not a bow hunter but something interesting i thought i would share that i heard a few years ago. i class that i was in took a field trip to the cross bar ranch north of town which is now blm land. while we were taking the tour, the blm land manager told us that it was public land and that as long as you called their amarillo office and got a free permit, you could bow hunt deer out there. that is the only thing if i remember right that you can hunt out there and no guns are allowed. might be worth looking into for the ones of you that do not have a lease.

I thought shooting bows would be a cinch. WRONG! >:(

I started off on a child's bow. Then Graduated to a long bow. Now I will practice with a compound.

It is  not as easy as shooting my .45's.
