Just saying they should have waited for better shots or waited for the animal to turn. I do understand it's not  that easy but I have let a bunch of deer walk because the shot wasn't right.

I have taken both a deer and a turkey with a bow.

The archery bug never really bit me.

3 whitetail bucks, 2 does. 2 Muelys both bucks. And about a dozen turkey. Oh and one little raccoon. I mean little too. He was a sneaky little guy too, he tried to climb into a feeder I was hunting over. I've never shot with a lighted nock but I have heard they weigh a few grains more than a normal one.

:-\ They help, but these knocks aren't as easy to see or find for that matter. Hell, the only reason I persisted to find these croosbolts was that the lit knock was so damn expensive.

I have used these too, they do weigh just a few gr more than a standard nock, with no noticable flight difference, they are easier to find if the nock pops off when it hits the target though.
You can make your own, its very easy, there is a fishing bobber light that you can get (there are 2 kinds, get the right one) you put a dab of super glue in the nock and use the base of an old nock to activate, there are videos on youtube just pick the process you like best.
Making your own cost about $5.00 each.
Shoot 1st, ask for more bullets later!
