About the Survival and Preparedness Forum
« on: May 16, 2009, 12:09:15 pm »
This forum will be devoted to discussion of survival skills. I can envision topics like:

    * Camping and basic woodsman skills.
    * Gardening, canning, pantry management.
    * Shortwave radio, CB radio, etc.
    * Storm shelters, natural disaster survival, etc.
    * Basic first aid, field medicine, homeopathic remedies.

I think it could be done intelligently and in such a way that it is educational. Far too many forums strictly devoted to those topics tend to be occupied by serious TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) extremists and tinfoil hat conspiracy nuts. That sort of nonsense is not going to be tolerated here.

Posts shall remain serious, topical and rational. The more educational or informative the post, the better.

Silly BS posts about zombie plagues or government overthrows will not be tolerated. I am instituting a zero tolerance policy on that. Anyone who intentionally mucks up the threads or posts in this area by proliferating that sort of idiocy will be removed from AGO.

Thank you and enjoy.  :)
Regards,
Robbie

Gods world is eternal and only the weak and stupid will cease to enjoy part of it. Evil will always be a part of it , we have the choice of good or evil. I dont see anywhere in Gods teachings that we have to let evil prevail . :rockout:

Yes, I know, the zetas are betting on it's return. However, while obtaining my first degree, I took an astronomy class. SHhhh, there is no planet X. Nibiru, nil.

Robbie,

I think this has quickly escalated into a forum other than your intent.

Come on guys, there are many who are genuinely interested in topics of survival and preparedness.

I have maintained a years supply of dry and canned goods since the mid '80s, constantly using from it and replenishing so that nothing is more than three months old.  In addition, I have maintained a minimum of 500 rounds in different caliber, also rotating it.

What a great idea, but you better get there early.  There are probably 10,000 other people in Amarillo alone that think the same way.

I hear my younger brothers all the time talking about how they will head for "the woods" but the woods will change quickly, soon filling with other people and will not be like they knew them.  My brothers are very good hunters and fishermen, but I just can't convince them to be prepared.

No...not around Amarillo, but the hills of north Alabama and Tennessee where hunters actually know how to track and hunt, and how to survive without an arsenal of firearms... ;D

An associate once told me that prevailing winds from probable nuclear strike locations will not take fallout to Matador, Texas.

Having land near Roaring Springs, I knew where I'd go.

For those of you that have land away from home or have a particular place in mind to go, have you thought about how you would get there? Taking a main highway probably aint such a great idea. For me it will be all back roads and a lot of dirt roads for about 60 miles. Only about a mile of main highway but it has big wide ditches.                           The powerstroke aint scared.  :rockout:

God bless the moderators - that whole TEOTWAWKI nonsense droves me nuts sometimes.

Preparedness is great, being a complete basket case that makes those of us who simply want to be prepared look bad - not so great.

Again - one thousand thanks to the moderators for trying to encourage non psychotic, constructive informative posts.
